Rotation #73 ~A Belated Happy Halloween to All!~
Mandatory Introduction:
Hello! Welcome to Color me Blood Red, a weekly rotation site featuring oodles of music and videos for your listening/viewing pleasure. Mainly Jrock stuffs, but I tend to throw on whatever genres (mostly some amazing European metal) I feel like. *bows*Come on in and enjoy!!

Today's Random Thought (11/01/07):
Hmm... firstly, Happy Halloween to everyone! I hope everyone had a good day. :) I usually, since it is my duty to do so, spread the Halloweenness through my rotation, but alas, I wasn't in the mood this year (if you really want to know, scroll down two posts). Ahem, fortunately, my dear requesters saved me there. :D We've got a few up there, for those who think Halloween shouldn't last only one night. ^__^

Secondly, omg! thank you, thank you, thank you to my dear visitors!!! who seemed to enjoy the idea of my country themed partial rotations. You have made oh! so happy and although I thought I would have to restrict the country choices this week, I did it pretty much like last week, with a lit more requests tacked on as well.... whoa, it was pretty packed this week! But yes, thank you!

A few rules:
1) Please, please don't go crazy when requesting stuff! Under 10 albums/videos at once sounds quite reasonable to me, excluding discographies, which are allowed. But do let others have a chance as well: there's always next week. ^____^

2) If you do not have a lj-account: the comment is listed as anonymous, so feel free to leave an email address or name if you want your stuff to be grouped together or you want to be notified. Completely optional, of course. Also, please do note that wait times may vary depending on my list of requests and if I have to locate something. He he I'm not ignoring your requests, just keep checking back. It won't be more than 1-2 weeks.

3) Here are my playlists, but feel free to request anything in absolutely any musical genre; however, please, PLEASE refrain from requesting mainstream music as it's very easily accessible elsewhere and the goal of my site is to introduce obscure-ish, international, and highly underappreciated, artists... please let me do so, but again feel free to request anything that's not here and I will try tirelessly to locate it for you. Do understand that I can't guarantee anything that isn't on these lists. I have been *grins proudly* quite good at finding stuff in the past....

Album/Single List
PV List
J-Rock Mp3 List: #-G
J-Rock Mp3 List: H-M
J-Rock Mp3 List: N-Z
Chinese/Korean Mp3 List
Anime/Game Mp3 List

4) Done? Now comment below. ^^

Yeah, I was thinking I should put this up here someday: somewhat-LEGAL DISCLAIMER: These files are meant for sampling purposes. Yup. *nods* If you really like what you hear, then go out and BUY the album, and prove to the bands that you do indeed love them. YesAsia is a great place for all Oriental stuffs featured here. I don't buy European albums online, but honestly, the Genghis Khan of Internet-dom: Amazon should help you out there. That's it. Enjoy!! ^_____^

*** = especially recommended by me, [info]akutenshi666!

... To Italy!! ^___^v

Alright, before I begin anything, I'll just let you know how this goes. Aside from taking bands I already had on file, I researched like mad, parsing through hundreds and hundreds of artists and choosing to download whatever sounded interesting. This means that we have a whole bunch of genres and a whole bunch of music that I either like... or don't. XD I guess that's what happens when you search without listening to it first, which can prove to be good for you, since I put EVERYTHING and hey! you might find something interesting. Requests can be found below. *nods* All country-related artists are grouped according to genre.

Una piccola introduzione: Ha ha yes, Italian is one of those languages that I love as well, and one that I love learning. As a girl in my class said, it's so amazing to know you can speak Italian! XD Anyways, despite the sexiness of the language, it seems really HARD to get stuff not in English, especially in the metal genre... I had to give into my non-English rule more than once there. And omg, another horrifying fact was that I had to parse through a majority of Italian hip-hop to get to the good stuff X____x Eeeww.... other than that, this one was fun... I hope you think so too!

.: ROCK :.

Subgenres: Folk Rock
Comment: Beginning with the folk rock and a very, very strange band, one that seems to mix rock and folk and punk all together. O__o I swear, each song is a different genre! Too odd for me.... [2.5/5] I think I could only describe this as veeery folk. XD I was expected a little more from a band whose name resembled Hardcore. Lol. Guess not. [2.5/5] I was really curious to hear something in an Italian dialect (since I've never heard of it) so this is in Sicilian, although as you can tell by my rating, I didn't enjoy it very much. :( Again, more folk than rock. [1/5] Maybe people won't agree, but this band seemed of the same style as bands such as Schandmaul, just Italian. It was really interesting, at least I thought so. [4/5]
Gem Boy: Ginecology
Ardecore: Ardecore
Brigantini: Ti Peace
Casa del Vento: Al Di La' Degli Alberi

Subgenres: Synth-Rock
Comment: [3/5] This one's pretty odd. A little bit of rock, some synthiness and just this overall... electronica~ness. It was a little too much for me, but it wasn't bad. At least it was upbeat, which can't be said for everything here.... XDDDD
Baustelle: La Malavita

Subgenres: Progressive Rock
Comment: Italy seems to adore! Progressive Rock. Almost all the bands I encountered were of this genre, and it's probably because it's considerably slower. Lol. Of course, this can get you some nice stuff: ie. Deasonika. ^__^ Really pretty. [4/5] This one had to be one of the best band I discovered. Progressive Rock with great vocals and just... so romantic! :3 [4.5/5] One that I didn't quite like as much, because it was soooo slow. Too slow for me. [3.5/5] Again with this one.... I think after listening to one after the other, you could really fall asleep. Lol [3/5]
Deasonika: Piccoli Detagli al Buio***
Afterhours: Ballate per Piccole Iene***
Finisterre: La Meccanica Naturale
EPO: Silenzio Assenso

To: Alt-Rock
Comment: Perhaps a little progressiveness in this one. Again, and the same can be said for the other two, a little too... slow[3.5/5] Slowish as well and verging quite close to the pop-rock side of things. [3.5/5] Didn't quite like vocals and style here, although this is considerably different from the others, mainly because it's categorized more specifically as grunge. [3.5/5]
Meganoidi: Granvanoeli
Le Vibrazioni: Officine Mechaniche
Verdena: Requiem

Subgenres: Female-Fronted
Comment: I feel like such a dork, because I listened to this artist in Italian class a few weeks ago and that's why I put it up here.... She was described as indie rock with a throaty, deep voice similiar to Janis Joplin and the vocalist of the Cranberries. It ended up being a tad too slow for me. [3.5/5]
Carmen Consoli: Eva Contro Eva

Subgenres: Punk-ish Rock
Comment: A pop punk band (and if I had known that before, I wouldn't have even downloaded it XDDDD) but it's here now, and this band actually won best Italian artist at the MTV Europe awards. In case you'd be interested in that. [2.5/5]
Finley: Adrenalina

Subgenres: Just Rock XD
Comment: This is a live album which at once made me not like it as much as I should have, especially when there was a somewhat gothic flavour to it. It was darkish, but the quality was grainy, not very good. [3/5] Another band I really enjoyed from my searching, although gah! they seem very popular, which goes against my uh, morals, but they're pretty good, in the rock sense. ^^[4.5/5]
Argine: Roma
Negramaro: La Finestra***

.: METAL :.

Subgenres: Doom Metal
Comment: Monumentam is partly doom metal, partly dark metal, and a little bit of the gothic thrown in as well. I actually prefer their newer stuff, but all their stuff is gorgeous, with an almost ambient feel to it [4.5/5] I did not know these guys were Italian, they were on my playlist, but I like them: deep, male vocals, some female vocals, with heavy use of violins (and that is a bonus). A little slowish at times, especially for doom metal, but very beautiful. [4.5/5]
Monumentum: In Absentia Christi***
How Like a Winter: Beyond the Grey Wake***

Subgenres: Gothic Metal
Comment: I've had Macbeth up a few times before, and they're back! Gothic, Symphonic metal with both male and female vocals, and operatic at times. A few songs in Italian, most in English, even though that doesn't really put me off in their case [4.5/5] These guys were also on my playlist, though I can't find them now to see how they sound like... oh, okay: very instrumentally based. Slowish, with very strong, male and female vocals. Pretty and very Halloweeny. :) [4/5] Ah, a less obscure band with female, occasional male, vocals. More standard gothic metal than the other, more symphonic stuff. Still, I like them. The second metal album I ever bought was theirs! :D [4.5/5]
Macbeth: Malae Artes***
Dakrua: Inner Wastelands***
Lacuna Coil: Karmacode***

Subgenres: Progressive Metal
Comment: I really like this band as well, although they aren't what one would traditionally call metal. Slower paced, although vocals are just great, drawn out and pretty. Yes. XD [4.5/5]
Novembre: Materia***

.: POP :.

Subgenres: Pop-Rock~ish
Comment: I heard these guys on the Video Italia channel we once got as a free preview and it was the only thing I actually remembered from that preview (although I watched it like 24hr a day) Similiar in style to the Calogero last week. Really nice... for mainstream pop rock, mind you. XDDD [4.5/5] A band that wasn't so good for me, a little too slow for me, and not very appealing... I don't know, it wasn't really that bad, but well.... *points* [3.5/5]
NEK: En El Cuarto***
Subsonica: L'eclissi

.: ET AL... :.

Genre: Gothic
Comment: This band sounded really interesting when I found them, although I didn't quite like the uh, end product. Gothic, Symphonic, Theatric music all rolled into one. This screams Halloween at you: organs, creepy soundeffects, screams and moans... also I so think the vocalist does it all, and there's only one playing both the man and woman roles... at least I think so. XD Strange[3/5]
Death Doll: Dies Irae

Genre: Neo-Classical
Comment: Very strange, but I love this!! I actually got this for the title (super phan), and was very pleasantly surprised to find it was a retelling of the book (yes!!! the book) in album format. It's really gorgeous: ambient, ethereal, classical, gothic, etc. Although the falsettos are a little... funny. XD [4/5]
Ataraxia: Il Fantasma dell'Opera***

Oh, PPS. I'll only be able to contact requesters this evening as I don't have time now, so in case you're early, everything is up! If your stuff is not here, that means it's still downloading and should be up soon! So sorry for that. :(

Ah, and fear not, there's a link for those who just can't bear to skim through the stuff featured above. XD

.: Mp3s :.

Comment: [Japanese; Rock] This is so belated, but it was SO hard to find... this is the audio rip of the video below :(
Milphinne: Garasu Tema

To: anonymous
Comment: [French; Pop] A whole bunch of French pop from the 60s and 70s, songs that I think I've only heard on the Saturday night tribute concerts. Still, I suppose they are classics for the genre and I'm honoured that people continued with the French theme. ^^[English (USA); AltRock] A song from the most recent single from this band.
Marie LaForet: Toi Mon Amour, Mon Ami
Marie LaForet: Ivan, Boris, et Moi
Marie LaForet: Manchester et Liverpool
Marc Lavoine: J'ai Tout Oublie
Francoise Hardy: Tous les Garcons et les Filles
Rooney: Where did Your Heart Go Missing?

To: [info]phylosophie
Comment: [English; Uh, crossover operatic?] So, the two only collaborated on one song, which presented a difficulty in categorizing it, even though *points* it has some connection to my theme, which made me two excited, but yeah: it's pretty self explantory: Meat Loaf and Pavarotti. Singing together. XD
Meat Loaf & Luciano Pavarotti: Come Back to Sorrento

To: Maya
Comment: [English (?); Wizard Rock] Yeah, clearly has some uh, Harry Potter influences. O__o Which is why I am just going to saunter over to the next comment....
The Whomping Willows: Draco and Harry
Ministry of Magic: Snape vs Snape

To: [info]sadie_no_aki
Comment: [Japanese; Rock] A whole slew of random tracks, and although I was supposed to zip them, I kinda forgot to do so. Anyways, some singles here, especially from TCST and perhaps from Kisaki Project... when I get everything up. XD

Aural Vampire: Crimson Tyrant

.: Albums :.

To: Maya
Comment: [English (USA); Gothic/Dark Cabaret] Classically inspired albums here by an artist that seems very big on my rotation at least and omg! every time I do put her up, she's come out with something new. O___o So, in case if anyone wants it, A Bit o'... is brand new from her.
Emilie Autumn: Liar, Dead is the New Alive
Emilie Autumn: Enchant
Emilie Autumn: Opheliac
Emilie Autumn: A Bit O' This and That
Emilie Autumn: Laced, Unlaced

To: [info]greenaurakun
Comment: [Japanese; Enka] Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Enka, although I've read many times that many Japanese people hold the same sentiment. I suppose it's an acquired taste. In case someone doesn't know, enka is the traditional, folk music of Japan. ^__^ *nods* It's worth a listen if you're interested in Jmusic and haven't heard it before....
Hikawa Kiyoshi: Matatabi Enka Mekyoukusen II
Itsuki Hiroshi: Best 18 Matatabi/Tabigarasu [Mediafire]

To: [info]addere
Comment: [English (USA); Soundtrack] Ugh! x____x I'm not exactly sure how this franchise continues, but yes, these are the soundtracks to all four movies. Even though I'm not a fan of the bands and artists on here, the soundtracks gotta be better than the movie... then again, I don't think people would pay me to see any one of them. I'll stick to the Oriental horror films, thank you very much. :)
Saw: OST
Saw II: OST
Saw III: OST
Saw IV: OST

To: Oopsies, I forgot to write it down -___-
Comment: [English (USA); Neo-Classical] I have a feeling that this actress/singer is trying to go the Sarah Brightman way. O__o Ha ha okay, forgive me for saying that, it just came to my mind (no flames, okay)... anyways, yes, this is her new single (3 songs, alas).
Emmy Rossum: Inside Out

To: [info]andilex
Comment: [Japanese; Rock] Oodles of Nightmare and Alice Nine. I'm actually a little horrified that I had more AN than Nightmare, when I like the latter much better. Still, both bands are good: Alice Nine is slightly darker and heavier, Nightmare more... well, rock. Still, good stuff from both.
Nightmare: Ultimate Circus***
Nightmare: The World***
Nightmare: Anima***
Alice Nine: Yuri wa Souku Saite
Alice Nine: Yami no Chiru Sakura
Alice Nine: Alice in Wonderland
Alice Nine: Akatsuki ~Itsuoku no Chandelier~
Alice Nine: Namae wa Madanahi
Alice Nine: Zekkeishoku

To: anonymous
Comment: [English; AltRock] A band apparently well known for being part of the BritRock movement. I think this is their newest [English (Sweden); Post-Metal] A band that I think more as Alternative Metal, I don't know what post-metal means. XD Hmm, but not that bad! Their newest... I think also. [English (Finland); Rock] Omg! a band that I absolutely adore. They make the most beautiful rock music that everyone has to sample it.... this is their first album. And it's amazing! [English; Progressive Rock] The first, most recent, and only album this band released before disbanding. Sucks for those that like it, I suppose. XD
Skunk Anansie: Post Orgasmic Chill
Khoma: Tsunami
Poets of the Fall: Signs of Life***
Mad At Gravity: Resonance

To: [info]phylosophie
Comment: [Japanese; Soundtrack] Eek! I had a near heartattack here: FFVII is giving me a new game, this time on the PSP. Okay, this is the soundtrack to that... I won't squeal about it here. I won't...
Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core: OST***

To: Leftovers from France... XD
Comment: [French; Gothic] Some leftovers from last week. I think many people would perhaps want this one, especially for the Halloweeness of it, although I didn't quite like it. Very slow, almost spoken vocals that are a tad too unclear. And omg!! ;__; I just remember that I had forgotten about Dark Sanctuary on last week's rotation. Noooo... [French; Rock] Someone (I forgot who) recommended this group last week and wow, I really like them. Harder rock, female fronted and just, really good. :D
Eros Necropsique: Crise de Lucidite
Mypollux: Contraire***

To: [info]dracunculusmed
Comment: [English; Gothic] More Halloweeness with a classic goth band: LaM. ^__^ I quite like these guys, although their works are a little older than most I listen to... that can be ignored though...
London After Midnight: Violent Acts of Beauty***
London After Midnight: Psycho Magnet***
London After Midnight: Oddities***

To: anonymous
Comment: [Japanese; Rock] Two albums from Diru: their first and a more, not so, recent one. Both are good, although Gauze still is one of my fav from them.
Dir en Grey: Gauze***
Dir en Grey: Withering to Death***

To:[info]printsinsand
Comment: [English (USA); Satire] That's so strange that this guy was up before, because I remember it. O__o Yeah, aside from compilations, this is his discography, all from the late fifties and early sixties. [English; Indie Rock] A more recent band in comparison to that, with a new wave-ish style to them. Their only two albums.
Tom Lehrer: An Evening Wasted with Tom Lehrer
Tom Lehrer: More Tom Lehrer
Tom Lehrer: Revisited
Tom Lehrer: That Was the Year That Was
Kaiser Chiefs: Yours Truly Angry Mob
Kaiser Chiefs: Employment

To: [info]child_prey680
Comment: [English (USA); Soundtrack] I actually didn't know if the requester wanted to original soundtrack attached to this as well, but this is the bonus CD, featuring interpretations of classic NBC (and hey! it doesn't get more Halloween than this) tunes done by artists such as: Marilyn Manson, Fiona Apple, Fall Out Boy, and some demos from the film.
Nightmare Before Christmas: Special Edition OST

To: [info]othela
Comment: [English; AltRock] A belated request. I don't know why singles are harder to find, but this one is a fairly recent one from this band.
Placebo: Twenty Years

.: PVs :.

To: [info]mizu_ki
Comment: [Japanese; Rock] The next part of the Gackt DVD. ^__^ The other two parts should be coming, no WILL be coming next week. XD Note: the Mediafire links require HJSplit to connect them.
Gackt: Requiem et Reminiscence Pt4 [001, 002, 003]

To: anonymous
Comment: [Japanese; Rock] Someone requested Milphinne and I swear this was the only thing that ever comes up from this band. ;___; Are they so rare? And it is to be noted that this is ripped from the VHS. :D Obviously, they're an older band perhaps? Similiar to Never Crazy, Ichigo69.
Milphinne: Garasu Tama

To: [info]pinkmiink
Comment: [Japanese; Rock] So, so belated, I don't even this is forgiveable. :( Harder, darker band and their videos reflect this quite well.
Inugami Circus-Dan: Kaidan! Kubitsuri no Mori
Inugami Circus-Dan: Requiem

To: [info]imire_helwaiwe
Comment: [Russian; R...rrrr...appp] x______x O...m...g! This was something I did not want to hear.... although there is a very funny aspect to it, not funny enough though to overpower that *shudders* genre.
Legalize: First Squad

To: [info]chaoscream
Comment: [English; Neo-classical] Music videos from both artists, the former's being brand new, the latter's being a little less recent, from 1994 and 1996 respectively. :)
Emmy Rossum: Slow me Down
Sarah Brightman: It's a Beautiful Day
Sarah Brightman: Who Wants to Live Forever

~fin

And ah! for next week, we shall travel a little east to... Poland! :D If you have suggestions, preferrably in Polish, please don't hesitate to comment below with them. ^___^

Taking oddles of Italian music to try. ...I just have to wait for most of the links to finish loading so I can download them.

Also, could I request some female-fronted j-rock bands? I've heard some stuff by Taia and Dazzle vision, but I'd like to hear more, since I seem to have a lot of trouble finding anything. Thanks, Mimi.

Oh hell yes, Meat Loaf freaking OWNS! So underrated. He has the best operatic voice in American rock and is just amazing live...

Final Fantasy... Speaking of, there's going to be another FF soundtrack coming out: Final Fantasy VII: Before Crisis + Last Order will be released on Dec. 19th</sup. (Japan) so you'd better mark your calendar for that. ;D And ZOMG, two people were dressed as MOOGLES at last night's IGUN Halloween! I've got to get the few pics I have posted (when I've recovered sufficiently), so keep your eyes out for them. =D

In American rock... yes, I think I may have to agree with that, although he is probably the only one I know, because *pokes disdainfully at the said genre* there sure isn't enough of it there to begin with. He totally needs to be applauded for that too.

And eek? another soundtrack? Is it another game? O__O Or is just the continuation album of this one *points above*? I may be confused, but I definitely shall have to look out for it, come December. *nods*

Ah, I think the time zones are at blame there. Sorry. :( But he he you're welcome. I was actually meaning to ask you, but I didn't have the time earlier, if you wanted the actual soundtrack attached to the bonus CD? If you do, just let me know, okay. :) And your request will be up on the next rotation.

I'll be taking lots of stuff when I get home. I'm at work right now, so no matter how much i want to, i can't download. But a lot of the Italian stuff seems to be calling my name, even though i'm not sure if i'll like it. But, i really want to try it! I'll be taking probably half of the italian stuff you mentioned, plus the Final Fantasy OST, since they usually have good music! I'll let you know tonight if i liked it, like i did the frech Le Roi Soleil (which i did buy the dvd for *shifts eyes*...), and the other french stuff i took. I probably will, more then half the time i take what you really recomend and come out liking even MORE stuff, which is really a crime, since theres only so much time in my life to listen to music... but it's time well spent, i like to think.

the sexiness of the language
Oh, thanks *___* XDDD

I like some of these bands, and if I realized in the previous rotation that you were going to do an "Italian rotation", I'd suggested Bluvertigo (they are elecrtic rock, very strange XP) and Tiziano Ferro (maybe you know him; he's pop, but has a good voice and his songs are often melancholic)

Awww... *hugs back* thanks so much for that! It's so nice of you! ;____; And ha ha let me guess, you're Italian? Oh, so so lucky! :( Alas, I'm only studying it, but hmm, it's totally not too late for me to find more bands! I'm currently downloading Tiziano Ferro, but I haven't been able to find the first band... I found something called Morgan (Bluvertigo), is that the same thing? O___o I'm very confused, but I really can't wait to give them a try. Thanks so much for that!!! :)

I've heard of Macbeth before, and my best friend really loves metal like that, so I might get some and try it out to see why she likes it so much. XD I'm kinda deprived of music other than Japanese and some English. And German. Yeah. XD Didn't take anything at the moment, may come back later on. XD

We just started studying Fascism w/Mussolini this week in school and now your theme is Italy! What a coincidence!
Ummm...
not. XD
I'm really excited to try these out! I also took some of the French music too. I love French 70's music. hehe.
Thank you so much!!

ohhh...and if it's not too much trouble, may I make a request? It's a little weird, but I've been trying for a number of months and I cannot find the original soundtrack to the 1933 movie 42nd Street. I found a broadway version, but all of the voices were high, sweaky, and just awful. That's one of my favourite movies, and if you had the time to look for the soundtrack, please, I'd really appreciate it!!!

Thank you~ m(_ _)m

FF7 is the first RPG i've played....er, not counting King's Quest and Kyrandia. Played it 4 times too (from scratch, without cheatcodes thrice). A former friend asked me to help get some enemy skills. I was surprised i can still remember what skill he's missing and which enemy give what skill and where. In short, i was obsessed o_O;

You're welcome! :) even though I feel so bad that it's taking so long with the different pieces. I actually uploaded the next part yesterday, but after hours of uploading, the servr crashed and it didn't go through, so I have to do it. Might be up tonight. I'll definitely send it to you if it gets up. Sorry about that though! :(

And omg! FFVII is the best! XD Even though my brother played most of it and I just watched him *not good with the fighting* Lol
