Rotation #83
Mandatory Introduction:
Hello! Welcome to Color me Blood Red, a weekly rotation site featuring oodles of music and videos for your listening/viewing pleasure. Mainly Jrock stuffs, but I tend to throw on whatever genres (mostly some amazing European metal) I feel like. *bows* Come on in and enjoy!!
Today's Random Thought (09/01/08):
Hmm... this is back-to-school weel. Very depressing. -_____- Rotation wise, I really don't think I have much to rant about today. So uh, I'll let you off this week. The rotation is a little smaller this week. Forgive me. :(
A few rules:
1) Please, please don't go crazy when requesting stuff! Under 10 albums/videos at once sounds quite reasonable to me. But do let others have a chance as well: there's always next week. ^____^
2) If you do not have a lj-account: the comment is listed as anonymous, so feel free to leave an email address or name if you want your stuff to be grouped together or you want to be notified. Completely optional, of course. Also, please do note that wait times may vary depending on my list of requests and if I have to locate something. He he I'm not ignoring your requests, just keep checking back. It won't be more than 1-2 weeks.
3) Here are my playlists, but feel free to request anything in absolutely any musical genre; however, please, PLEASE refrain from requesting mainstream music as it's very easily accessible elsewhere and the goal of my site is to introduce obscure-ish, international, and highly underappreciated artists... please let me do so, but again feel free to request anything that's not here and I will try tirelessly to locate it for you. Do understand that I can't guarantee anything that isn't on these lists, but I have been *grins proudly* quite good at finding stuff in the past....
Album/Single List
PV List
PS!! I'm thinking of getting rid of my lists altogether, as 95% of people request stuff not on them anyway, so it's a little bit of a waste to update them (and it takes a bit of time to do so), but if there are people who would like me to keep updating them, let me know. ^^
4) Done? Now comment below. ^^
... Indonesia!! ^___^v
Perkenalan: Someone suggested Indonesia a few weeks ago and I was so excited for this, because I used to go to this long defunct rotation site that featured a whole bunch of songs and I really liked them. They always sounded so exotic, but anyways, I thought, based on this small list of songs, that finding stuff would be easy. Oh, I was so wrong! ;_____; I quite literally found nothing at any of my usual search methods (the metal band database by country had no bands listed, so alas, nothing from there) but I did persevere and came up with something. XD Yay! Anyways, I do apologize for the serious lack of musical fun... I'm really disappointed with it too, but *shrugs* enjoy all there is. :(
.: ROCK :.
Subgenres: Alt Rock
Comment: Ungu is a pretty well known rock band with okay vocals and hey, they're actually pretty good. *nods* [4/5] Quite a long band name.. anyways~ this one's a little harder at times with pretty good vocals as well. Actually, I believe this was one of my favs from this week's measly portion. XD [4.5/5]
Ungu: Utuknum Selamanya
The Rock feat. Ahmad Dhani: The Rock feat. Ahmad Dhani***
Subgenres: Hard Rock
Comment: This band has a heavier sound to them with great melodies and vocals, although I would have personally perferred if the actual recording was done more clearly. [4/5]
Radja: Untuk Semua
Subgenres: Just Rock XD
Comment: More poppier band that's okay. Not the greatest, but alright... although some of their songs are in English, BUT I did note here that it was very well sung, because you know, sometimes it uh, isn't. ^^; [4/5] Poppish rock with okay vocals especially in the slower songs. The upbeat stuff is... not so good. XD [4/5] ha ha for some odd reason, this album looked really promising from the cover, it was lighter than I had anticipated and had some poppy elements. However, vocals were nice. [4/5]
Nidji: Top Up 2007
Sheila on 7: 07 Des
Kerispatih: Kenyaatan Perasaan
.: POP :.
Subgenres: Pop Rock
Comment: Honestly, with a album title like this, I was expecting a fluff overload, so I was rather relieved it didn't come, althoughit was pretty poppy and upbeat, too upbeat. Still, overall, it was okay. [3.5/5] Secondly, another bad that was alright, although I found it veeery slow. Not the greatest. [3.5/5]
Gigi: Peace, Love, Respect
Dygta: Persembahan Jiwa
Subgenres: Just Pop XD
Comment: This is a compilation of works from Indonesia's three 'divas': Krisdayanti, TitiDJ, and uh, someone else. I wasn't too thrilled with this as it was poppy, R&B-styled songs. [2/5] A singer famous from her work on a certain soundtrack. This is her first album or something... slowish, but the vocals, I thought, were quite nice. [3/5] Finally, the uh, diva returns. O__o Uh, I actually had a song of hers in my original Indonesian collection, and I liked it much better than this: Hip Hop, R&B, dance all mixed into one for upbeat stuff. Think Mariah Carey. In Indonesian. OKay, ha ha ha, maybe that's an insult to this artist... XDDDD [3/5] Very slow, soft, pop music that could be better in quality, but the actual vocals weren't bad: a little deeper than the usual female artist, but a little... boring. [3/5]
Various Artists: 3 Diva
Bunga Citra Lestari: Cinta Pertama
Krisdayanti: Krisdayanti
Rossa: Yang Terpilih
Yeah, I was thinking I should put this up here someday: somewhat-LEGAL DISCLAIMER: These files are meant for sampling purposes. Yup. *nods* If you really like what you hear, then go out and BUY the album, and prove to the bands that you do indeed love them. YesAsia is a great place for all Oriental stuffs featured here. I don't buy European albums online, but honestly, the Genghis Khan of Internet-dom: Amazon should help you out there. That's it. Enjoy!! ^_____^
*** = especially recommended by me,

Comment: [English (Norway); Black Metal] A few tracks from this band, the second being an instrumental from a track featured on their newest album. [Norwegian; Hip Hop] Ugh, what?!? X_____X Yes, this scared me very much, and since I forgot which Mitt song it was supposed to be, I got both. The right one is the second which is a collaboration with the artist's "childhood friends": Dimmu Borgir. Still... O__o quite odd. [English (Greece); Symphonic Black Metal] Female-fronted band, so this was quite... strange. I think I don't like black metal fronted by a girl... the effect doesn't turn out so nicely. Lol. [English (Germany); Thrash Metal] Finally, a recent (???) song from this band filled with screams and other stuffs. :D
Dimmu Borgir: Black Metal
Dimmu Borgir: The Serpentine Offering (Instrumental)
Dimmu Borgir: Sorgens Kammer (Instrumental)
Diaz: Mitt Stille Vann
Diaz: Mitt Terningkast
Astarte: The Ring of Sorrow
Destruction: The Alliance of Hellhoundz
To:
Comment: [English (USA); Rock] He he he *uneasy laughter continues* So I don't like these guys at all.
Maroon 5: Pure Imagination
Orugo-ru: Suicide
To:
Comment: [English; AltRock] Hmm.. I totally forgot what I was supposed to put here as my explantion. Oops. XD Now disbanded and uh, grrr...
The Cooper Temple Clause: Blind Pilots
To:
Comment: [Japanese; Ska] A all-girl, 10 member band of professional musicians. Quite interesting actually, since there's a lot of saxophone and other instruments thrown into the mix. Alas, all I've found from the band,.
Pistol Valve: The Best House
Pistol Valve: Sit Cow Char Nail
To:
Comment: [Japanese; Anime] OP track from the anime. Also, just to let you know, it is sung by Uverworld and they have it released as a single. :)
Blood+: Colors of the Heart
To:
Comment: [English (USA); Alt Rock] Some randomness from both bands from uh, various albums perhaps. *scampers shamefully to the albums*
Rage Against the Machine: Bull on Parade
Rage Against the Machine: Sleep Now in the Fire
The White Stripes: Icky Thump
The White Stripes: Seven Nation Army
.: Albums :.
To: Leftovers... from Turkey
Comment: [Turkish; Rock] Ha ha so here's a ton of stuff from last week's rotation. Punky-styled rock with some jazziness as well. It was okay, not great. Pilli Bebek was a little more on the trad side, although the vocals were good, and deep, and we all know what Mimi says about deep, man vocals. ^^ [Turkish/English; Symphonic Metal] OMG! Really, if this genre appeals to you at all: try this band. I was surprised in a good way to give them a listen: very symphonic with hints of power and folk metal, although I usually referred to folk in the trad. Middle Eastern sense for other bands. This is more European sounding, but wow, the vocals. Very operatic from both the man and woman. The Turkish tracks (esp. 1945) is especially recommended. Try it. [Turkish; Rock] Alright, a more trad. sounding band now, although it was okay. [Turkish; Doom Metal] These two bands are somehow linked as they came in one zip file. Mezarkabul releases only stuff in English, and Pentagram is a little more varied. Both have very, very sparse vocals, almost to the point where I thought I was listening to instru. stuff. [English (Turkey); Alternative Metal] Alright band with good vocals and a somwhat harder sound. I wrote something in my shorthand on the sheet, and I forgot what it meant. -____- [Turkish; Alternative Metal] Finally, the last band is really good. Nice vocals, although their softness didn't quite match with the heaviness of the background.
Rashit: Adam Olmak Istemiyorum
Pilli Bebek: Olsun
Almora: 1945***
Fatih Erdemci & LuusiaNN: Yasamak Zor
Pentagram: Bir
Mezarkabul: Unspoken
The Climb: The Climb
Ünlü: O Ve Z Hikayesi***
To:
Comment: [English (USA); Hard Rock] The newest album from this more well known (^^;;;) band.
Disturbed: Ten Thousand Fists
To:
Comment: [English (USA); Dark Cabaret] Ha ha wow, she's back! XD I swear that this at least has to be the most popular non-Jrock request on my rotation. Still, it's really good: violin music teamed with cabaret and industrial and gothic. ^^; Laced Unlaced is the newest, omg, seriously, she releases three albums per year, I'm having a hard time, but it's an all-violin album. The last is belated and meant for
Emilie Autumn: Laced Unlaced
Emilie Autumn: Liar, Dead is the New Alive
Emilie Autumn: Opheliac
Emilie Autumn: A Bit O This and That
Emilie Autumn: Enchant
Emilie Autumn: Your Sugar Sits Untouched
To:
Comment: [Japanese; Rock] See? There's more. ^^ They're an "old-school" (not my words XD) visual kei band that's now disbanded for quite some time I believe. Indies sounding. XD And similiar to bands like Vierge and Remage and hey! am I only one who has heard of none of these bands? O___O
Orugo-ru: Mousou no Requiem
To:
Comment: [Japanese; Rock] A rock band (duh) that's composed of four girls and apparently they're famous for "the" Coca-Cola commercial. Yes. Anyways, pretty obscure, indies-ish stuff similiar to The Pillows, Go!Go!7188 and SEagull Screaming Kiss Her Kiss Her. ^^
Noodles: Long Long Chain
To:
Comment: [English (USA); Ska, Punk] A few albums from them that's actually the majority of what they've released. The first, I believe, is the most recent. [English (USA); Soundtrack] Ha ha I didn't know there was a two CD version of the soundtrack. I guess I'm getting it, so hopefully, CD2 will come before I post this rotation. From the Disney movie. (Edit: okay, so I think I screwed up here, as the second seems to contain both CDs, while the first is... I don't know what. -____-;; I kept both since they might be different and I spent the time uploading it. Lol.)
Streetlight Manifesto: Everything Goes Numb
Streetlight Manifesto: Somewhere in the Between
Streetlight Manifesto: Keasbey Nights
Streetlight Manifesto: Live
Prince of Egypt: OST CD1
Prince of Egypt : OST (2CD)
To:
Comment: [Japanese; Rock] A new~ish VK band that's come out with some visually appealing stuff at least. ^^; It's fronted by Kamijo (ex-Lareine) so I'm pretty sure we all know what to expect: classically inspired tracks with softer, melodic vocals.
Versailles: Lyrical Sympathy
To:
Comment: [Japanese; Rock] A bunch of the bigger albums from M10M, Lamentful Miss being the most recent from the bunch. The first two, also, have the newest vocalist, while the last two are the first uh, guy. XD Or that's what I'm hoping is right. Really, does anyone else notice that they seem to all sound -so- similiar that it's hard to pinpoint it? O__o
Moi Dix Mois: Lamentful Miss***
Moi Dix Mois: Beyond the Gate***
Moi Dix Mois: Dix Infernal***
Moi Dix Mois: Nocturnal Opera***
To:
Comment: [Japanese; Soundtrack] Both of these soundtracks come from the anime. :) Not the movie or game or whatever there is. So yeah. LOl.
DeathNote: OST I
DeathNote: OST II
To:
Comment: [Japanese; Punk] An obscurish band (okay, I've never heard of them) that's considerably harder than the usual Jrock stuff, and that's also mixed with the punk. *points to tag* They're actually from the 80s/early 90s and he he were apparently quite revolutionary for their musical genre. ^^
The Stalin: Mushi
The Stalin: Stop Jap
The Stalin: Trash
The Stalin: Stalinism 7"
The Stalin: The Stalin
To:
Comment: [Japanese; Rock] MtheH's latest full-length album. For those who never heard of them: odd sounding band that's influenced by tons of stuff: punk, rock, pop, funk, etc. A whole bunch mixed into one. Yes, that being said, I don't quite care for it, so uh, some 12012. :) Yes, lovely stuff that's some of their older maxi-singles and such. Depression Sign is a 2CD set, or something... don't know why, but both are included. ;) Anyways, older releases from ReS' more indies day. Lovely stuff, ESP the title track from Shinwa. *melts*
Maximum the Hormone: Buiikikaesu
12012: Shudder***
12012: Swallow***
12012: Sick***
12012: Depression Sign***
Rentrer en Soi: Shinwa***
Rentrer en Soi: Ichigo Oblaate***
To:
Comment: [Finnish; Rock] Speaking of melting... oddles of Finnish music. All were featured on the Finnish rotation, so if you enjoyed them, help yourself to some more. <3 Harder rock from Apulanta, softer stuffs from both Happoradio and 51 Koodia, more towards the altrock genre perhaps. Finally, a 3CD release from CMX which is a best of.. or at least part of it. Warning: this thing is huge, nearly 200 MB. O__O Wow, so there's lots of uh, fun there.
Apulanta: Heinola 10***
Apulanta: Aivan Niinkuin Kaikki Muutkin***
Happoradio: Asemalla***
51 Koodia: Rautaiset Linnut***
CMX: Cloaca Maxima II***
To:
Comment: [English (USA); Soundtrack] In response to the requester: yes, a soundtrack exists! XD Anyways, yeah, we're maybe making a series here of obscure, dark movies that feature Johnny Depp or something. O__o Ha ha but really, when I watched this movie once, years ago, I liked it... prob. because I'm obscure and dark or something like that. XDDDD [Japanese; Pop] Ahem, yeah, is this the only release from this band? I've been hunting everywhere and it's only this, coming from the Bleach anime -- it's the 8th ending theme. O__O [German (Austria); Gothic/NDW] I love Samsas Traum, although (it's not here, but anyways) I was quite disappointed in their newest release. This is some of their older stuffs, which is all so nice. Both A Ura.. and Tineoidea could be considered gothic operas of sorts. Very nice. ^^ Endstation Eden is a best of from their earlier releases and features the title track which is repeated so many times on these two discs you're addicted to it by the end. LOL [Japanese; Rock] Finally, the newest from Nightmare? It's Dirty, released in early November, just in case someone didn't have it. I actually did have it as a link and uploaded it again -____-;; Great.
Edward Scissorhands: OST
Takacha: Movin'
Samsas Traum: A Ura und das Schnecken Haus***
Samsas Traum: Endstation Eden (Volume 1)***
Samsas Traum: Endstation Eden (Volume 2)***
Samsas Traum: Die Liebe Gottes***
Samsas Traum: Tineoidea oder Die Folgen Einer Nacht***
Nightmare: Dirty***
To:
Comment: [English (Norway); Progressive Metal] Because others can do a better job than me: " Madder Mortem is a female fronted, Norwegian progressive doom metal band with gothic influences. " (last.fm) And yes. This is their most recent album. [Danish; Electro-Folk] Hmm.. once, I was hunting around for bands that sing in Danish and couldn't find anything. They do. XD Although it's really electronica influenced. Actually, one of the similarities listed is Garmarna, which was in the Finnish leftovers. Remember? :D Most recent, perhaps only?
Madder Mortum: All Flesh is Grass
Sorten Muld: Mark II
To:
Comment: [Japanese; Pop] There's little about this guy and I have a feeling this is all he's released. He's actually the vocalist from the disbanded Jpop group, Sunny Day Service. I've never heard of them, but that might help?
Keiichi Sokabe: Shunkan to Eiein
To:
Comment: [English (USA); Post-Hardcore] I've always wondered what the difference between post-hardcore and hardcore is. Testing out these albums, I haven't found it out yet. XD The first is their newest. I think it's an older release from Rosetta. Maybe. [English (USA); AltRock] Sika Redem is their only album to date, or that's the impression I got. Pretty obscurish release. Hum is described as space rock... what the hell is space rock? *sighs* I'd say rock with some synth/electronic infleunce, but not that much. [English; AltRock/Gothic Rock] Finally, a British band that's mainly from the 80s, although this release is from 94'. Again: dream rock. -_____-; Who makes these things up, but yeah...
Battle of Mice: A Day of Nights
Rosetta: Wake/Lift
Rosetta: The Galilean Satellites
Sika Redem: Entheogen
Hum: Downward is Heavenward
Cranes: Loved
Dead Letter Circus: Dead Letter Circus
To: Leftovers... maybe for you XD
Comment: [English (Finland); Gothic Metal] Two albums from this quite good band, with great male vocals and slower feel to their songs. Yup. Good though. [Korean; Pop] More from this female, Hip... uh, you know the rest, artist. :I [Japanese; Soundtrack] A very late request which is the soundtrack to the... anime I think? Again, I'll probably be wrong. [English (Brazil); Melodic Power Metal] Ha ha very late addition to the Brazil rotation. XD In English.
Silentium: Altum***
Silentium: SI.VM. E.T A.V.VM***
Lexy: Lextacy
Sukisyo: OST
Eyes of Shiva: Eyes of Soul

Comment: [Japanese; Rock] Two of Nightmare's more recent videos, Alumina being the newest and coming from some soundtrack... hey! is it the Death Note above perhaps?? O__o Now, I'm only getting confused I think.
Nightmare: The World***
Nightmare: Alumina***
To:
Comment: [English (Norway); Black Metal] Video from this band, that I think is their newest. It comes from their newest album, so I assumed....
Dimmu Borgir: The Serpentine Offering
To:
Comment: [Japanese; Rock] Two videos, quite good, although a little... odd and out there, especially the Diru, because when are they not weird and nasty. LOL!
12012: Cyclone***
Dir en Grey: Clever Sleazoid
